Hawaiian Acres Problems
#71
drive in and out on a daily commute to Work ,a job

Root cause: Acres lifestyle is not compatible with a commute; if this is still required, better live on pavement.

no planned move its tough to keep livestock in hilo town. roads have really deteriorated in the past few years to a really horrible condition. lately the new idea of repair is spray rocks on the road . don't misunderstand the rocks are a welcome site but would be better if they were at least put into the craters/holes instead of spread out any kind with no box scraping or machine work .

I always hope that this page will somehow work itself into being informative for the acres people .

Perhaps we can inform the road that more crushed rock is required? Information is power.

yes crushed mixed with rock is best but a box scrapper would pull material into the craters. things started going really bad when the grader was mainly used for roads . horrible fixed blade pushed all the rock and material to the side of the road leaving nothing on the road and scraping down to bed rock .

I won't argue that it's not getting worse.

That said, "sharing" the information doesn't seem to help either, especially since HARC/HACA aren't going to do anything...

Oh geez back to this again. Justthefacts posting more B.S. about our road conditions. "roads have really deteriorated in the past few years to a really horrible condition"
The roads have not gotten worse. They are same or better due to less flooding rainfall and massive road-rivers which is our main cause of road erosion. You're like a complaining broken record that is incapable of repair. Justthenonfacts, or Imakestuffup, or justalie or justwhiningandattentioncraving, etc etc

and what are they doing with the millions of dollars they collect in dues??? hhhhmmmmmm?? it's not like they can't afford to pay for rock and labor- millions of dollars!! if they aren't paying for roads-then does the money go straight to rubies???

the problem with your posts, justthefacts, is that you leave me with far more questions than answers. i always support your truth-telling-but so far you just a lot of talk-no walk. you might consider upping your game.

So HARC is not doing anything? The facebook page they set up looks like they are...

(*Disclaimer - Derailing/Off Topic!![Big Grin])

Mr. Tom, travel safely, and our deepest aloha to Pam. Pog brings a point forth, although pointed. For the record, I see no difference in our Mr. Tom, just another soul who is sick and tired of BS, especially in our neighborhoods, and community.

After all, Mr. Tom is an Englishman (Nodding my head as we need to understand cultural differences, in the process). He calls a spade a spade.

Mahalo for the topic about Hawaiian Acres, and the problems we are discussing, however, "you are not alone".

Millions? from where? to raise $1 million, you would need 16,667 people to pay their annual road dues of $60.

There are 4,008 lots. If EVERYBODY paid their road dues every year, it would take more than 4 years to raise even $1 million.

And not even nearly everybody pays their dues--I suspect they actually collect more like $60,000 per year.
