Hi Smile Not related to bylaw changes, but related to HA and HARC... HARC will be sending out an e-newsletter very shortly. If you'd like to receive a copy in your email, please sign up on the website (http://www.hawaiianacresroads.org/). Put your email address in the text box and press the big Subscribe button. Also, please check your junk mail box for a verification email, otherwise your newsletter will be sent there as well.

This thread is about ALL things in the Acres! Welcome and great to share the HARC updates! The link works for me. I will be signing up to recieve the newsletter. Lets get membership and community participation up again! At the end of 2008 there were more than 1200 members of HARC and more than 1400 members of HACA. It is not impossible to see that much participation again! Strength in numbers!

PS thank you for posting the questions and giving me the opportunity to reply. we should make it plain that i am a different laurie from you. i would hate you to be the recipient of animosity directed against me. so....i am laurie birch treasurer HACA. Smile

Bylaws amendments are very complex. I understand the new board’s intents, although I disagree with some ideas of how to move forward. Doing any mailout requiring a response is best done 6 weeks before the deadline as some members live in other countries. There absolutely must be enough time for them to receive and send back any ballot for any meeting. Three weeks in often not enough time for folks to receive, read, decide and mail back 10-14 days before the due date so their ballot is received on time.
Yes, we are likely to be confused with our first names being alike! You have had to put up with some vicious bullying from some of the same difficult persons recently as I have in years past. That makes you & me friends in my book!

Justmyopinion,There are a few folks out there who may be able to treat you nicely and with respect after you take responsibility for your actions of the last 8 years as so destructive & hurtful. Apologies accepted right here!

hey girl , I feel you on this matter , im thrilled that we have a positive thread to communicate and share laughs and news , I have asked some people to refrain from dragging their trash onto the thread , as we all can see through her façade and we all know her style , sooooo hopefully she will just stick to her own thread . and as for an apology and her taking responsibility , well I have a dollar that says you will never get either one ,, ITS JUST NOT IN HER NATURE

laurie you never miss an opportunity to direct your anger towards me . here we go once again you were the office manager for the HACA and HARC organization ,for 10 years. by your numbers posted above, along with the transfer fees you forgot to mention, HARC took in approximately $100.000.00 and HACA approximately $80,000.00 . that is mucho money , the roads should have been in top shape and the community center , should have never fallen into a state of disrepair with the buildings permits being expired .
so you blame me for asking for an audit to get answers for the membership . and you resigning your 10 year position.
what do you exactly want to blame me for , state the destruction . I was not the office manager , had No access to anything, not books ,not computers, nothing. you had involvement in everything.

We feel that when mailing to out of country addresses, especially on such important issues as a ballet for voting board members in to office or any amendment votes - that 120 days would be much more equitable .
In addition , it should be printed in BOLD lettering , that the non profit status is NOT a deduction on ones personal taxes .
We have a question - who on this thread is a HACA or HARC board member ?
Were you voted in by the paid members ?
We also feel that to get more paying members,it should be that every lot owner be allowed to have a say in any and all amendment changes . This will facilitate more community input and yearly donations to both organizations .
If the paid members now are less than 300 to each organization and there are 4000 lot owners ,this means less than 1 percent are making important changes for every lot owner .

You have the numbers incorrect. I have always used total income, including transfer fees & other revenue streams, and the amounts were never ever as large as you say from 1999-2009. I have no idea where you ever got the figures you speak of. It just didn't happen. Transfer fees were only $25.00 back when I resigned in 2009, to expand my bookkeeping business instead of lower-paying office management services. HARC never had more than 72K and HACA no more than 48K in any one year. You created an extremely hostile work and non-profit board environment and then continued to bully the next office managers, board members and your neighbors. Many in our community feel you are responsible in some big way for the horrendous letter of lies sent out a few years back, tanking the membership. The lasting effects are all the mistrust around us that is finally being dispelled by the truth. You have stated repeatedly that you want to see the end of our non-profits. I also am tired of repeating your badness. This thread is to move forward with trust, enjoy our neighbors and community, get membership up. Don't come here if you are not going to offer real solutions.

laurie those numbers are what you use to print out on your paperwork . somehow HACA managed to put big money into a savings money market account and HARC had money carried over from year to year that was not spent. I could not create a hostile work environment because I did not work there you did for 10 years alone except when you hired your daughter and friend. I did not bully anyone I was not around to do that , I did not work in the office. one thing is for sure I do not regret asking the prosecutor to the meeting , the man who said " you need an audit" and then you resigned . I was also very grateful to the university that attempted the audit for meeting with me and explaining what they were able to find before walking away.
