Hawaiian Acres Issues

Kuauli rock appears to be "in the road", which is County (formerly Limbo, code green on RIL inventory). I consider this a County responsibility (permitting and maintenance).

9.paved access road , no.1 and no. 8

Road 8 ("theoretically") maintained with public funds, not HACA/HARC.

The re-erection of the "rock" would be a HACA function.

2) don’t see a benefit—absentee owners, people with rental properties, folks who don’t use the CC;
3) don’t like HACA-related people they’ve encountered over the years;
4) don’t feel like they have a say in where the money is spent (I used to pay my dues and go to meetings. At each meeting, a particular board member held a bunch of proxies, so whatever she wanted got passed.);
5) don’t care.

1) work trade as previously suggested
2) keeps the neighborhoods friendly, a focal point for when the absentees visit, neighborhood watch, volunteer fire dept
3)most people are wonderful; you can reap the benefits without encountering the politics
4)communications can be improved
5)you have the option to not participate!

save our indigenous and endemic Hawaiian Plants... learn about them, grow them, and plant them on your property, ....instead of all that invasive non-native garbage I see in most yards... aloha

HAHAHA! Actually, over the years, security lights have been installed and used. they have always been damaged within a few months. Not sure of the answer to security at nite in our wonderfully streetlight-free Acres.

Great idea! Who will take the nite shift? Overnite neighborhood watchers? As with all "bright" ideas, those who come up with them are rarely the ones who do the work to implement them!

I was office manager when the HACA board voted to purchase the entrance rocks for about $1800 a piece. The mounting of them was an additional few hundred dollars each, mostly for the heavy equipment needed to lift them and put them in place. Very expensive!
