Lumping one third of the State's population into one homogenous mass and blaming them for the actions of a few is as ignorant as blaming all white people for the actions of a few greedy plantation owners. People deserve to be judged as individuals, not as ethnic groups. Your first comment on this was just mean spirited, this comment is just proof you are a mentally disturbed troll.

After a long work day, and making my lei for ohana who are no longer here (one for dining room table to smell up the room), we have had a lovely Lei Day. Six (6) strand puakenikeni for Tutu and Papa at their graves, and one beer for my husband's grave (he hated to wear lei...6'5" Hawaiian doesn't wear lei, nor ever use an umbrella! SMH. Sorry, TMI & O/T).

We prepare for travel to Mauna A Wakea/Mauna Kea tomorrow. As we stop to "smell the flowers", may we all work together for a better tomorrow. Keiki and mo'opuna are duly briefed, and have made their ho'okupu.

As the day is ending, I'm listening to "Pua Lilia", which is one of our ohana favorites. The "pua" (flower), is not only a flower, but symbolic to a loved one, a dear one, a precious one, whose "scent" (uhane, spirit) will never leave us.

Leaving you with this, version, by the Sunday Manoa (Cazimero Brothers), as we prepare for tomorrow. Aloha ahiahi to all.

`Auhea wale `oe e ka ua
Ke nihi a`e nei i nĂ¢ pali
Ka helena o ia pua i `ako `ia
He popohe mai nei ia uka
Ia uka ho`i a`u e walea ai
Me ke `ala onaona o ku`u pua
He pua `oe na`u i lei mau ai
Ke `ala o ku`u pua lilia

Listen to the rain
Creeping silently along the cliffs
It looks as if this flower has been plucked
Shapely the upland
The very upland that I'll enjoy
With the sweet fragrance of my flower
You are a flower, always to wear as a lei
The fragrance of my lily blossom

(Danced this for my beloved Uncle Robert Keli'iho'omalu at his services. SO miss him still...[V])

Our keiki and mo'opuna are also na pua o Hawai'i.

Kaulana Na Pua o Hawai'i!

Aloha kakou, rest well, a hui hou.

(Packing sucks when you gotta make SPAM musubi in the early morn, and make sure water bottles are filled because no more soda! Juice and water!!! [xx(] And, I'm worried, so packing toilet paper, hand wipes, and Purell. Sorry. OMG.

From another perspective (Austrian/German), "Edelweiss" from the movie, "Sound of Music" (a favorite!!!), is a beautiful flower.

Small and white, green and bright, you look happy to meet me....blossom of snow may you bloom and grow, bloom and grow, forever...Edelweiss, Edelweiss, bless my homeland forever"....

The Hawaiian version, performed by, "Ho'okena", we appreciate all cultures, and their flowers. Bless our homelands forever.

Mahalo ke Akua.

JMO.

ETA: Now last one, promise. (Packing almost pau) Aunty Emma DeFries was, and is, one of the true Kahunanui of our ohana. As I stress out about packing, this one comes on the "Pandora list". Hoailona.

E Ku'u Sweet Lei Poina'ola. (The original version was the only time our Kahunanui was recorded singing her song. Mahalo, Aunty Emma. Mai Poina'ole (we will never forget).

Aloha wau i'a o'e. (Missing Kupuna...[V])

E kala mai. A hui hou.

It would be an honor, Sir. (Albeit in "cyberspace", for now.)

Ballroom (can do), Two Step (can do), Salsa (as long as I have White Flower when pau; Ancient Chinese secret), Disco (absolutely), Hula, (oh, of course), anything that is full of grace and dignity, fun included. (Curtsey to the right...)

Oh, wait. "Mustang Sally" carries a mean beat!

Mahalo for your aloha, in the true sense (you know how we can tell. [Smile])

Aloha ahi ahi, pog. Blessings.

JMO.

P.S. I would never tell you "Cumin does not belong on chicken". [Wink] (I'm no Kai'ulani).

If a third of the state is supporting this anti tmt campaign then they can all go jump in the lake. If a third of the state doesnt support the rabble rousing then they should say something.

Staying silent while the extremists among you takeover your agenda has the appearance of tacit support.

Why don't you take this over to the TMT threads where it belongs and not stink up the place on this thread. There are as many positions on TMT as there are people on this island, there are people of all ethnicities on all sides of the issue. There are kanaka who support the TMT, and have been vocal about it, so you are just being a troll by demanding that all kanaka do something to your satisfaction. Lumping an entire ethnic group into one and then insulting them based on the actions of the few shows a very shallow understanding of human nature.

Opihikao is no more responsible for every kanaka in Hawaii than I am responsible for every rude pushy white guy from the mainland who moves here and tries to turn Hawaii into a warmer version of wherever they came from. Your rudeness to her was uncalled for and childish.

Opihikao, did I ever tell you about the time Emily, Sativa and I brought 1000 leis of Aloha to Washington DC and gave them away to every one we met at the inauguration in 2009? Green ti leaf leis made by school children and volunteers. It was one of the crazy projects we thought up five boxes plus we had them in our luggage I will never forget that trip. I believe every time I make one and give it away I come closer to what it is like to express love and joy and appreciation for others that I know or don't know. As for Kapoho Joe, Remember everybody, when it come to people like that just say over and over again 'Hurt people hurt people it is as simple as that.
Solidarity for ever. Have a spectacular sensational Saturday everyone
