I just Google Earthed those so called 1/4 acre lots on B between 4-5, as of 1/2013 there are 4 smaller 'homes' total on these so called 'dozen lots' (look like older unpermitted shacks/lean-toos to me), and 3 driveways and one car total (12 lots?)..
as the depth of the these tiny 'lots' looks to be the normal 150' off 'B'(3 diff driveways come off 'B'), and would be 72.5' wide... it sure looks like one 3 acre lot subdivided... with only about a third of the lots being used...
the rest of the land is 100% untouched, no property line cuts, no driveways, no fences..
I highly doubt these 7-8 or so wild lots paid dues, no one lives on these so called 'lots', let alone has done a minutes worth of maintenance or work... why would they be all paid up, and get their 'B' road graveled before others ie 'C', 'D' etc. ...

People are actually living on them, sometimes with grid power.
Google Earthed those so called 1/4 acre lots on B between 4-5
Check out the TMK maps, and the other clusters of 1/4-acre lots along E and F.
Better yet, drive out there and see for yourself.

kalakoa thanks for the info, but maybe you want to google earth B between 4-5, (as of Jan 2013) NO ONE lives on the land I noted... 2/3rds of those lots are 100% WILD and solid trees w/no trace of human work... Im dealing w/'B' Rd only... as E and F are not near me...

I want to know HOW a lot is consider a "B ROAD LOT" (B Rd residents) and how can 'B' Rd be paid up enough to get priority treatment (see quote below by cfscott)...if NO ONE lives on 2/3rd of these small tiny lots noted between 4-5 on B???? and the rest of the owners near there actually dont have property that touches 'B' Rd???
OK, So Im on 2 between B and C, but much closer to B, but I cant drive out that way because of the creek.. I am closer to B so I guess Im a LUCKY "B road resident",, so please gravel the road to at least Rd 2, as Ive paid my dues.... I obviously cant drive that way, but Im much closer to B than C... I do walk my dogs that way often so thank in advance for graveling all the way up to 2 so I no get muddy feet ...

I also want to know the answer to what dues are these 1/4 acre lots actually paying???
(if they even paid at all, they sure look poorer than the average HA resident by the structures seen)
are they bypassing a McDonalds hamburger to pay their $2.14-$2.50/yr?? while we pay 12-14X more?

If your lot is closer to B Rd than it is the C Rd, then it is considered part of the B Rd jurisdiction.

B Rd is NOT receiving priority treatment over other roads. I was conveying my plan for B Rd, as the B Rd rep. I am not in charge of every budget for every road. Each letter road has a representative.

As I live very close to these quarter acre lots, I can assure you: People do indeed live there. Noisy ones with car repairs, chickens, and dogs.

Most people in the acres do not have property touching the letter roads, myself included.

Please feel free to contact HARC and have your dues designated for C Rd. No one is stopping you. In fact, we've encouraged people to make sure that their money goes to the lettered road that they want it to go to.

I would love to. A load of gravel costs about $400. For one load. 3 Rd to 2 Rd could use more than one load. Please encourage your neighbors to also pay their dues. $60 doesn't go super far when talking about many miles of road improvements.

If muddy feet is a concern, one might research their property first to see if it's within a flood zone (hint: yours probably is).

I'm not sure why you've latched onto this so much. I feel as though you've misinterpreted almost every statement I made. I can understand your frustration though. The roads are terrible. If you would like to take more responsibility for the road you own, please consider joining HARC and show everyone just how awful I am

Dues are voluntary. Some pay, some don't. The requested road due is $60 per lot, regardless of size or number of owners. If one person owns 3 lots, they are asked to pay $180/year.

cf asking a multiple lot owner to pay for all lots is a nice idea but, does not seem fair because there are so many that do not pay anything .

I absolutely agree. Our community needs someone who is willing to stand up and organize the owners to get mandatory dues for our roads. Unless some miracle happens and everyone answers their financial duty, then mandatory fees are the going to be the only way to get improvements. But even if we had mandatory, there's the issue of enforcement.
Have you looked into this before? Do you know what the process would entail? I have seen the legal documents from other groups, but no definite "this is where you start".

Who cares about the roads? Hawaii is an ISLAND. Nothing but WATER for thousands of miles in any direction. Why is everyone here so oblivious to that simple fact? (I pay my dues, btw; AND 6 times the property tax of any of the nearest houses, and 6 times more per dollar earned of my personal income tax as well). Why worry about roads that are not even in their legally designated locations?

Yes, it does. Preferably not in Hawaiian Acres.
Why worry about roads that are not even in their legally designated locations?
