Hawaiian acres is the only pure agricultural zoned subdividision
All the Puna subdivisions are zoned Ag, minus a very few R-zoned lots. A few subdivisions include "R-norm" CC&Rs, with varying levels of enforcement.

I'd love to know the difference between "pure agricultural" and "agricultural."

Not . The 1/4 and 1 acre lots are not staying agricultural they are rural or soon to be . . And the pure agricultural means" no mix use "' commercial zoning like Orchidland .HPP Leilani etc . Also only one is 150' wide . Orchidland is real spaghetti and has commercial zoning

Thinking about this again you are simply in the wrong subdivisions . Across from highway 11 on the mauka side are all the old cane lands . That's your dirt . One cow would use up three acres bulldozed pretty quick . What makes you think alfalfa would grow here ?

between HA and the hwy is old cane fields, with dirt... and lots of cows already.. drive down and check out the lots off the road from mm13 on hwy11 that goes into HA to RdB (at Rd2)... or on other side on N.Enos Rd
seems a better fit than trying to make a HA lot good for anything more than a few goats or sheep... like someone pointed out before, your property line is going to be 2,042' long.. so you will need some good fencing.. and alot of soil brought in if you strip the natural vegetation... You should buy pastureland IMO
