So if the laws state that we can not protect ourselves then must we become vigilantes?

I'd rather be judged by 12 of my peers than carried by 6.
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

Only works if that trial is held in Puna, where the jury would understand.

he had just exited his driveway in a pickup truck and pulled to the side of the road when a small sedan pulled up behind him.

You don't need a gun to defend yourself in this situation:
1) Don't pull over
2) If you do pull over and the thieves pull up behind you, pedal to the metal and let them eat your dust*

* unless they display a bazooka or RPG

It is Time to stand up for our 2nd Amendment rights.
Before moving back to Hawaii I lived in a neighborhood That had 3 daylight break ins. The third one the owner was home. He shot them.
The local news interviewed some of the neighbors. They told the news reporter that anyone trying to break in to there home, they would be shot. So don't come here.
30 years earlier in the same neighborhood. Some one broke into my house at about 2:30 am. He came into the house. Looked at the rifle pointed at him. Looked at me. Looked at the rifle again. And ran.
PD can not protect us. Our elected officials can't ether. Yet take away our rights to defend our self's. There is a good reason mass killings take place in gun free zones.

Here comes 60 pages of back and forth on guns, whose gun is bigger, input from people who don't live here, the meaning of the 2nd amendment, Hawaii's gun laws, and gun laws other places, along with vicious name calling, finger pointing and no resolution.

Check out the archives for what has happened in every other thread where someone made this sort of statement, it is usually pretty ugly.

The people who don't have guns, don't want anybody to have guns. The people who do have guns, don't want the government to be the only ones who have guns. As for the 2nd amendment, this recently discovered video from the founding fathers puts that argument to rest. Once and for all: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXrNj3t6Vxo

Still, a timely reminder.
When you have a moment don't forget to check one of the items in your home defense / hurricane preparedness kit, your cans of Pork 'n Beans. Are they nearing their expiration date? Then make a lunch the kids will love, and add some new cans to your shopping list. Handy tip, take your fresh cans from the back of the grocery store shelf, they'll have newer dates, and they'll last longer.

A good place for a historical perspective on successfully defending yourself Puna Style can be found on the Pork 'n Beans thread. Defending herself during a break-in a woman threw a can of Pork 'n Beans at an intruder, which helped lead to his arrest and conviction.

there is no need to talk about your 2A rights and how to protect your home and loved ones on a public forum. if you are not already prepared, get with it soon because it's going to get worse.
