Yes, thank you HOTPE. That was a fascinating read. I knew the story but not in that sort of detail from a witness. Thanks again.
Everything anyone could ever want to know about the future of Hawaii as an independent nation can be found in the Gettysburg Address. Easy to find on Google. Not sure if they teach it in the schools here.

Yup, thanks HOTPE, excellent read. I was impressed by the author's efforts to exonerate the Hawaiians of any premeditated ill intent, save for the thieves of the cutter. Typically, emotion distorts accounts when multiple deaths occurred. Also impressed with the courage of the Hawaiians; most first encounters with firearms result in immediate panic and retreat.

Sorry I can't help further w/that information. When I lived on Oahu, I met a group of 4-5 Native American's who were visiting windward Oahu in the 90's from the Seattle area. They were traveling with story teller, Johnny Moses, a Native American who was touring schools w/his story telling and by night hosting Medicine Circles. Johnny had a busy schedule and one of the guys happened to mention this info to me.
