Does this really belong on the front page?

"Exploiting Tolerance" is the most succinct explanation I've seen.

exercises of First Amendment Rights

It's somewhat "fair" (and "ironic") that County doesn't enforce the sign code in situations where it clearly applies -- perhaps they're concerned about the 1A "rights" of business?

After reading the article and some of the statements made by James Borden, you have to ask yourself, can't they give him some medication, or a nice soft hospital room somewhere?

I would only question why they focused all of their attention on one individual, rather than the scope of the problem downtown.

Are you saying or agreeing that if a person offers an opinion different than the mainstream, they should be sent to a mental hospital?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but they're not entitled to express it in any way they see fit. In the case of James Bordon, he chooses to display disturbing images in a location frequented by children, then has the audacity to think:

Asked about the sign’s placement so close to a playground, he said that he had received “very good feedback” from children about the signage, because it had prompted empathy for the fetus.

If he truly believes that, then yes, a mental hospital is a better place for him than near children playing in a park.

I don't know about a mental hospital for HIM, but I know of somebody who really needs to find another country - perhaps one with "People's Republic" or similar language in it designed to hide the totalitarian nature of their government.

Sugarloaf, Do you see the irony of your point? Probably not.

I'll be happy to point it out for Sugarloaf, by paraphrasing a previous comment:

Are you saying or agreeing that if a person offers a differing opinion, they should move to a "People's Republic?"

I am using it for illustrative purposes. Turning the tables on him so he sees what HE is proposing for Mr. Borden. Hopefully, it isn't lost on him. You saw it, perhaps he will too.
