5" overnight, 3rd & HPP (now Land o' Lakes) at 11 am
No sign of letting up.

I'm surprised I haven't gotten any flash flood alerts on my phone.

Gauge overflowed by 9:30 am at 5.2" and radar shows plenty more on the way - 22nd and Makuu.

WINDWARD COASTLINE...AND PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHEAST SLOPES OF MAUNA
LOA NEAR THE VOLCANO NATIONAL PARK. HILO POLICE DEPARTMENT
REPORTED MINOR FLOODING ON SEVERAL ROADS AROUND HILO.

HILO...HAWAIIAN PARADISE PARK...HONOKAA...KAMUELA...HONOMU...
KEAAU...EDEN ROC AND SADDLE ROAD JUNCTION.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

STAY AWAY FROM STREAMS...DRAINAGE DITCHES AND LOW LYING AREAS PRONE
TO FLOODING.

RAINFALL AND RUNOFF WILL ALSO CAUSE HAZARDOUS DRIVING CONDITIONS DUE
TO PONDING...REDUCED VISIBILITY AND POOR BRAKING ACTION.

DO NOT CROSS FAST FLOWING OR RISING WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE OR ON FOOT.
TURN AROUND...DON/T DROWN.

Kea`au town - 6.75 in the last 24hrs... 4.5" from the start yesterday evening to 2pm & 2.25" from 2pm till 8:30 tonight -still have yet to have a rain that I needed the larger volume AcuRite rain gauge/thermometer I got at Lowes after the March 2006 rains...but this is getting close!
