Tulsi Gabbard disinvited from debate
#11
I am disturbed that she picks needless flights with the Obama administration. Criticising Obama for not using the specific term "radical Islam" does nothing for Hawai'i. It is esoteric, but the Obama administration prefers to call them terrorists. There are very good reasons not to feed the notion that the US is on an anti-Islamic crusade. But, Republicans and Tulsi would rather make domestic political hay out of being anti-Islamic than be concerned about America in the world. If you don't get it, think about the fact that the US never called the IRA "radical Catholics", that would have been an absurd insult to the world's Catholics.

Rob,

What an excellent observation and point. I never thought of things that way, and am speaking as someone with a very large Catholic family in Northern Ireland. Thank you for making me think more about the subject.

first year congresswoman, i think she is doing great.
what happened to our political world?
be a sheep and agree with EVERYTHING the party says or you are out?
i grew up in a household where one parent was democrat, one republican and there was always lively debates. None of this name calling, bigot, or hate monger if you don't agree with me stuff. why have people stopped thinking? why just go along with a 'party line'? sometimes i agree, sometimes i don't, that is what your brain is for...

She is being called the "hottest congress woman in the world" now. Some people are asking why doesn't she run for President> The reason Republicans love her so much, is she is almost totally anti-Obama, now on multiple TV interviews. She is now accusing the President of the United States of being engaged in an illegal war in Syria, which would be treason. Looking at that face, the eyes are so blank, it is Sarah Palin all over again. People don't realize how quickly power can go to peoples' heads. So much for Rob's "moderation" to keep PW topics to Puna. It is getting bizarre. Obama two weeks ago said no troops on the ground. Today, he says combat troops are being sent in. Gabbard two weeks ago, was saying Obama was being weak and not sending troops in. Today, she is saying the US should pull out.

This is all Hawaii related which is what a freshman US house representative should be working on, as hired, not to go rogue and create a new fashion statement.

I think this directly relates to Puna. I would guess some of our Puna neighbors are in this deployment.

I agree with her assessment of the whole mess. If I wanted a rubber stamp I can get one from Office Max for $23.93

So we put down Tulsi for not supporting the president sending in troops to a country we are not at war with, with the intention of overthrowing the established government with a more pro-western version. I wonder if they will be accused of breaking international laws as well.

Kinda weird when the shoe is on the other foot.

Pahoated scribbled:

Bolding is mine.

And then, from Pahoated:

"This is all Hawaii related which is what a freshman US house representative should be working on, as hired, not to go rogue and create a new fashion statement."

As usual, Pahoated gets it all wrong.

"This forum is for discussion of politics relating to Puna on a county, state and federal level. This is not a forum to discuss national or world politics unless very directly related to life here in Hawaii."

But I find it more disturbing that Pahoated started off his rant referring to news articles about how hot Gabbard is yet fails to explain how that's relevant.

Whoo boy, another Rob approved stalker troll from OCD Victorian Tom about a subject he knows nothing about and proceeds to onset dementia analysis.

My referral to "sexiest woman in Congress" is not from me, it is from the news. You have serious transference issues.

Check Out the Sexiest Members of Congress

Her relevance to PW is she is a US house representative from Hawaii, she likes to surf Hawaii island, and was deployed in Puna for the lava emergency. She is also a public figure for Hawaii. What has caused her to go global is her in-the-face attitude towards Obama, now so far as accusing him of treason on public TV.

I know you are going through malihini meltdown, with these fuse popping posts that only show something is short circuiting in your head.
