Refrigerator repair
#11
I also just had to get my fridge repaired and can recommend Michael's. Very helpful and took care of it quickly, unlike Sears which scheduled an appointment for two weeks away and was going to charge $95 just to come out and look at it.

I tried calling Michael's and left a message. After no response in almost 2 hours (assuming I dialed the right number), I called Puna Appliance Co. 808-982-6444 and Colin arrived in less than 1 hour. He installed a "hard start kit" and the refrigerator started working, at least for now.

Had to google "hard start kit". Never heard of one but now I understand what it is and what it does and glad for that. With a 10 year old side by side that had issues while under warranty, this will be a good starting point in diagnostics... I think! Wink

When you call Michael, they usually don't call back until that night after they get back from doing the days stuff. They stay pretty busy too.

I think you would be better off using this program :

I have taken advantage of programs like this when they were a lot more lucrative but the biggest benefit would be to your wallet !

Wow, you punaweb(ers) are awesome. Lots of great ideas. My first thought was ebay. I've been upgrading a used car a bought recently using ebay, and what I discovered is if you search for the product (item) identification number, an amazing amount of search results return. Just a thought. BTW, I like and agree with the hair dryer trick.

Colin is 70, like me, and said he is semi-retired, so I am not sure he wants a lot more business - LOL. He definitely knew what was wrong and, more importantly, how to fix it. The refrig is working fine today.
Michael's did finally call me back this AM a little before 8:00.
