imwithstoopid belches: " Come here (outskirts of Chicago) and live amongst these idiots and then tell me something. Between them and the Blacks that seem to be trying to do population control through the end of a gun the city is gone, except for small enclaves of Yuppie Gentrification."

Ignore at your own peril. This is a big serious problem and these people are seeing it everyday
What's even bigger is the number of refugees who have entered the US since 9/11: 750,000. What's small is the number arrested due to terrorism: 3

BTW, stopping the refugee immigration program would not have kept out the two Boston bombers, they entered the US through another legal channel. So probably could have bombed the marathon anyway...
Now, what about all of the refugees who have been denied admittance into the US and later died? Think of what some of them might have contributed to our society. A greater number of brilliant minds have probably been lost over the years than the 3 actual terrorists we've allowed in by the current immigration program. Let's start with a child, Anne Frank:

Keeping this local,
The Syrian refugees are a huge humanitarian crisis. I commend Ige for wanting to be part of the solution. But buying them the most expensive US plane tickets to live in the most expensive state with the least amount of available (and most expensive) housing (Oahu, Maui, Kauai) fails the common sense test.

Exactly. That's why they will be settled in Ka'u.

Lets see - a refugee has an option of western europe with benefits like free education and a generous monthly stipend - or the us which is mostly pay as you go, maybe some low level ebt income....
that is why we in the us end up with mostly the well heeled "refugees" that are able to get out with capital
its good to remember that 500k invested in the us will "buy" a visa
