You're not injecting beef jerky into the bloodstream. Wink wink, nudge, nudge.
True enough about the beef jerky, or as I'll now refer to it, "bovine casein with beef heart infusion."
But Mountain Dew? Have you ever watched a kid drink 12 ounces of the stuff? Before and after? It's as close to injection as is possible without the use of a needle. I rest my case.

If one is concerned about tainted research because of financial interests (Ex Dr Wakefield, autism- MMR ) look into Dr Paul Offit's and his competing interests and financial ties.....
. For anyone who does not know who he is..... I'll leave it to you to do further research as would not want to introduce my bias to your conclusions.

Dr Offit (from Wikipedia)
"He is the co-inventor of a rotavirus vaccine that has been credited with saving hundreds of lives every day."
"Michael Specter wrote that Offit "has become a figure of hatred to the many vaccine denialists and conspiracy theorists." Specter reported that Offit had often been threatened with violence by anti-vaccine advocates, necessitating precautions such as screening Offit's packages for mail bombs and providing guards when Offit attends federal health advisory committee meetings"

I think I'll go back to: "I'll watch the sides jab at each other with hubris, somewhat uncomfortable that I don't know if I would vaccinate a child today or not."
Probably I was secretly hoping to learn something new that might sway me toward one side or the other...
Truth told, I just can't deal with ultimate of all ad hominems, Paul....that Gypsy hack bit stings like a vaccination needle.
Cheers,
Kirt

PBS Frontline's interview with Dr. Paul Offit covers a lot of the development and debate surrounding vaccines and worth a read IMHO. The reasons for the shift in public perception, and the positive and negative consequences, are quite insightful.

Why not? Vaccines are less safe now?

Here's something new (for you) : vaccines work and are a very very very good idea.

I think we are leaving out an important voice in the debate over vaccination. What would Donald Trump have to say?

Almost all of the Republican candidates, even the doctors, like to hint that vaccines are unsafe.
Not that they believe it (hopefully) but because it plays well with the voters they are aiming for.

Aye, hard not to associate any anti-vaccination argument (as well as many of those claiming a sceptical stance) with the irrational noise emanating from such reactionary quarters.
