Cop shooting in Hilo 2 ...Tue Walmart parking lot
#1
Tue night Feb 9th, Scottie Yanagawa ......aka LaFamilia Choppa on facebook....

this dude... wanted Honoli'i suspected shooter from Jan 31st....
http://khon2.com/2016/02/09/man-wanted-f...-shooting/

Scottie was on facebook talking crap about 9:35pm on 'Big Island Thieves' page, then an hour later was shooting at cops in Walmart parking lot, and was then shot himself and captured....

at first they said he didnt die, was shot in leg and taken to Hilo Med Center, but later some came on and posted he died... not confirmed though...

if you have facebook, this was his alias, LaFamilia Choppa .. stupid kook Scottie didnt change his name in fb's http address so I figured out who he was a few hours before he was shot, and told all 11 thousand people on 'Big Island Thieves' page that Choppa was Scottie...
RIP if he is confirmed dead... should have turned himself in like dozens told him to on Tue's fb threads

if not dead.. prob going away for long time, w/ charges like attempted murder Honoli'i on 31st, attempted murder cops tonight the 9th, and escaping from the Hale Nani late last year

aloha

Yes, the shooting criminal is dead.

Edited to change victim to criminal. It is what it is.

I hope that getting into shootouts with the cops isn't a new fad among the local thugs, what with innocent bystanders and all. Of course, my cynical side says it does eliminate a problem individual and an opportunity for the local judiciary to screw up one more time.

First McDonald's.
Then Walmart.
Maybe it's a violent protest and attempted overthrow of mainland corporate businesses?

Unfortunately the continued "shame on you brah, now go home" attitude with the judicial system promotes an "I'm invincible!" attitude with the thugs creating the end result being what has happened here.

Since every time an officer is involved in a shooting, he/she is placed on administrative leave, how long will it be before we start running short of officers that can be on patrol? McD shooting was 3, this one 4 officers.

edit to add new info - 4 officers fired weapons at WalMart

how effective would it be if we had the ability to shoot people that came on our property? feels like our hands are tied, and the criminals know it.

Wow Banana, if you had something to do with outing him, congrats! Job well done.

Great Job HPD. One less toxic element in the community. I don't subscribe to that "no one deserves to die" stuff. In the case of the first shooting, and then last night....both of these young men deserved to die. The rap sheet is long both on the record and on the streets. Once again, I am glad the police is sending the message loud and clear -- don't f with us.
