Geez, the maximum is pretty harsh for little 'ole Pahoa, out here in the middle of nowhere.

Hopefully she gets off with a slap on the wrist. If she owns the building in Pahoa which technically is a converted house, I can see the where she made the jump in judgment. Too bad, she seemed to have good intentions.

Doesn't surprise me though, government scamming is a way of life with too many here i.e. the lifetime food stamp entitlement mentality. Not saying Tiffany gets food stamps, I don't know, but it sure is a prevalent mentality around here.

You don't have to own a building to vote in a particular district, for instance renters vote. You do have to live there, however.

There were also allegations of tax violations, i.e., claiming owner-occupancy for a home while living elsewhere. That might have been resolved by simply paying the tax differential with penalty and interest. A Class C Felony for voting fraud would seem to be a much bigger problem. As I understand it, the period in question was not when Edwards Hunt was running for the council. That begs the question of why it was so important to be registered in a district in which she didn't live. Any ideas?

Any ideas?

Much of modern Puna was built by illegal Marijuana growers who had/have a penchant for welfare scamming. As if that gave them a legitimate alibi for not working while being busy growing and smuggling weed? What's next on that list?

It takes a criminal mentality to grow pot when it is illegal with felony consequences. Sorry to those who disagree with this reality.

I'm not insinuating Tiffany grew weed, I don't know. I'm simply commenting on a mentality that ran Puna for a long time.
