Anyone heard of a airline pass where you can fly back and forth from California to Hawaii as many times you want in a year for one set price? I knew someone in Kauai that had it but I can't recall how he got it.
My name is Josh by the way. Aloha. I live in Mt View. Havn't checked yall out for awhile. Looks quite a bit more active.

Hi Josh,
ATA Airline (American Trans Air) has an annual pass available for a set price. They fly from Oakland and Los Angeles to Hawaii and they are starting a daily flight from Oakland to Hilo.

Gosh Josh if I still had buddy passes I'd hook you up. If you know people who work in the airline industry many times they can help you out. Not unlimited but possibly enough to really help you out. Only thing is when you fly standby (or non-rev) you really don't know for sure if you will get on the particular flight or not. Good-luck!

Stand-by ticket can cost you more than a regular ticket. I once was stuck in Paris for two days thanks to my stand-by DELTA ticket and spent more on hotels/food/taxi than my regular ticket would have been.

I'm talking about what is called a non-revenue passenger. On our own carriers the fee is ridiculously low (and some even complained about a $25.00 upgrade charge!) and we are allowed buddy passes for friends and family who aren't immediate family. For me it was $50.00 plus the tax on a y8 fare, substantially less than a paid ticket of any sort, standby or otherwise. We got 10 a year and one year so many of my cousins were fighting over them I cut them all up! Let 'em pay their own way to Vegas and Cozumel...and Denver and NYC...etc.

Wow, quite a deal Pam! My wife had a friend that worked on an Airline but he quit recently. Bummer. I did find Suntrips Pass which is about 3300 bucks...so worth it if you fly more than 7 times I guess. That might work. I'll chweck out ATA's website for their pass. Thanx for all the Info.

Pam, I was talking about the same. The wife of a friend of mine is an angel of the sky on Delta, she got me the buddy pass from NYC-Paris-Budapest. I was stuck in Paris for two days on the way back. A R/T ticket was about $500 back then and the whole ordeal cost me more than that.

Southwest has specials this week. Doesn't work on island, but all mainland flights at a special fare. Someone might be interested. Aloha, Mella L
