Ate at Carrisal again today. I had the carne asada (steak) taco platter (see pic below). Wife had the chicken burrito. Taco platter was excellent, burrito was above average. Bring an appetite because either dish could have been shared. But they are slow even when empty so don't be STARVING when you show up. Menu and breakfast menus below. They also have a whiteboard with things on it but not sure if its a repeat of the menu or what. Saw somebody order shave ice and they brought out the ice block and shaved up a portion so huge the buyers changed their mind and decided to split one instead of ordering two.

I'd be shocked if I get a positive response to this question, but is there anywhere here you can buy quail eggs?

OF COURSE Amazon sells quail eggs...

Thanks, Lodestone, appreciate that! I was hoping for fewer than 48 quail eggs, but at least I know where to go in a quail egg emergency. But a shipping weight of seven pounds? Presumably they're wrapped in protective lead.

Rocketman and Dayna, thank you! I really didn't expect to be able to get local quail eggs. I'm thinking of making a seared scallop dish with quail eggs hence the request, so am pleasantly surprised.
Dayna - is your friend who sells the eggs in Puna? If not, I'll likely follow-up on Rocketman's suggestion. |
