10-15% bleach to water in a spray bottle. One quick squirt on them and they quickly die, without harming plants or painted surfaces.

A little salt....
Broil on "high" for 1 minute per side to seal in the juices.
Dip in "Wing Street" sauce of your choice.
Or you can freeze and save up a few for the Big Game!

Few people know that coqui are aphrodisiacs, like rhino horn. If this fact becomes common knowledge, people from all over the world will clamor for huge numbers of the lil' buggers.
At least, I'm trying to this rumor going that so I have income from the croaking cash cows in my old age.

Hi, TomK ~
Thanks for asking, but no luck yet - he's still there. I'm going to get the grandson with the weedeater over here and clear out the area. Tonight I'm going to use bleach with my hose sprayer again. I'll let you know when and how I get rid of him! Aloha.

Good luck! There was a thread a while back about coquis in which someone mentioned using a bicycle pump to spray baking soda at particularly troublesome and unreachable coquis. My apologies to that person for forgetting who they were. Too tired to search for the thread right now, but can look it up if you don't have success.

I feel your pain sister! We did some things that are not part of the agriculture dept. recommendations but sure did help. We converted a weed blower (cut a hole in the top I believe) which allows one to blow dry ingredients a lot further than can be thrown by hand. Bleach is also very effective if within reach. I have witnessed coquis all but doing the back stroke in a solution of hydrated lime, which was discouraging to say the least. They are not as easy to kill as we would like but when you consider to rate at which they reproduce it is worth the effort! One female can lay two hatches of 70 eggs a month! Kind of makes rabbits look like amateurs!

I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but I think this coqui was on the side of my house instead of in the bushes. It's hard to believe because it sure sounded like he was in the bushes. I went out at midnight one night, half asleep, with my flashlight and by some miracle there he was! Near my window on a planter next to the house. I picked up the planter and drenched him with Raid. I'll never forget his little eyes blinking fast from the Raid and it makes me sad because I grew up playing with frogs as pets. We used to enter big frogs in the Angels Camp Frog Jumping Contest. One year my brother actually won.
Anyway, he's gone and if the problem comes up again I'll know to spray the area of the house wall and underneath before I spray the bushes.
Thank you for all the good solutions on this thread. Aloha!
