During a party convention on April 30, Hawaii County Democrats passed a resolution to stop Hawaii government from spraying the glyphosate herbicide in public places.
KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii – A majority of Democrats participating in the Hawaii County party convention in Kona on Saturday want to see government put an end to the spraying of the glyphosate herbicide, also known as Roundup, in public places.
The Big Island Democrats voted in support of a party resolution that will “encourage elected public officials to pass legislation prohibiting the use of toxic herbicides such as glyphosate for spraying on public property.” The resolution has no lawful power, unless it gets carried forward as a proposed ordinance by elected officials....

hire more government workers to keep the weeds down!
Using non-toxic, non-polluting lawn tractors, and weed whackers, that are used twice a week rather than once every few months.

'public places' they will still spray some areas...
why are all of you so scared of Roundup..??? Ive been to many seminars on its use and how it works when I was a county worker in 1990s..... fwiw, if its so bad we'd all KNOW By Now...
Roundup has been around for 46 years now,.. the main ingredient in RU, glyphosate, has been around for 66 years now,.. Monsanto has been around for 115 years now.. ...1 years before Monsanto existed, in 1900 the average life expectancy was 31 yrs old.. today 2016 its about 81 years old, and by the time your kids are old it should be 84+... go figure...

Shouldn't we ban Roundabouts also? They sound very similar, so just to be safe.

The link is an anti-roundup organization's spin on a journal
article for which they provide no link.
It is a study from 2004 and the pubmed abstract reads as follows:
"This paper describes results from a systematic review and a series of meta-analyses of nearly three decades worth of epidemiologic research on the relationship between non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and occupational exposure to agricultural pesticide active ingredients and chemical groups. Estimates of associations of NHL with 21 pesticide chemical groups and 80 active ingredients were extracted from 44 papers, all of which reported results from analyses of studies conducted in high-income countries. Random effects meta-analyses showed that phenoxy herbicides, carbamate insecticides, organophosphorus insecticides and the active ingredient lindane, an organochlorine insecticide, were positively associated with NHL. In a handful of papers, associations between pesticides and NHL subtypes were reported; B cell lymphoma was positively associated with phenoxy herbicides and the organophosphorus herbicide glyphosate. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was positively associated with phenoxy herbicide exposure. Despite compelling evidence that NHL is associated with certain chemicals, this review indicates the need for investigations of a larger variety of pesticides in more geographic areas, especially in low- and middle-income countries, which, despite producing a large portion of the world's agriculture, were missing in the literature that were reviewed."
In a handful of papers...
To come up with the headline "Glyphosate (Roundup) Linked to Cancer of the Lymph Tissue in New Study" from that abstract is pretty creative.
Keep trying RoundUp fear mongers.

A shocking review has been published linking Roundup to Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.
The article linked is not a study, or a medical report, it's a review of various articles, some with no medical basis whatsoever.

From infowars.com
Lawsuits filed against agribusiness giant Monsanto are mounting, with the latest one being filed last week in Delaware.
That lawsuit is just one of a growing number of suits alleging a link between glyphosate exposure and cancer. Glyphosate is the main ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide. Three law firms are representing the plaintiffs in the case, which claims that Monsanto “led a prolonged campaign of misinformation to convince government agencies, farmers and the general population that Roundup was safe,” according to Reuters.
It could be the start of a “mass tort” against Monsanto.
In September, similar lawsuits were filed in New York and California against the company, each of them accusing Monsanto of knowing for years that glyphosate is dangerous to human health. Monsanto “led a prolonged campaign of misinformation to convince government agencies, farmers and the general population that Roundup was safe,” the lawsuit states.
“We can prove that Monsanto knew about the dangers of glyphosate,” said Michael McDivitt, a Colorado-based attorney whose firm is assembling cases for 50 plaintiffs. “There are a lot of studies showing glyphosate causes these cancers.”

I welcome them to drink a glass and let us know how that works out
The safety of a product isn't determined by drinking or eating it, but by whether there are any ill effects when used as directed. Look in your medicine cabinet. Would you eat a tube of toothpaste? Drink a bottle of mouthwash, isopropyl alcohol or hydrogen peroxide? Shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion? You'd probably get fairly sick, or worse. But when used as directed all of those products are perfectly safe, and useful.
