How to dispose of a huge couch
#1
I have a huge double-reclining leather couch that weighs about eight thousand pounds and I need to get rid of it. It's too big for the transfer station, so is there a dark roadside I can dump it where I'm unlikely to get caught? Just kidding, I want to dispose of it legally. Do I have to take it to the landfill?

Or is there a service anybody here who has used and can recommend that will haul it away for me (and not dump it down the road) ?

Don't know of any service to haul your couch, but maybe find somebody that wants the leather for work aprons, etc., and break down the rest to haul to transfer?

Put it out by your driveway... someone will steal it..

You probably can hire someone to take it, or yo could break it down (the transfer stations will not take the whole thing, but will take pieces of it)
Many of our neighbors in Keaau town have weekly rubbish service & with at least 3 different companies, so I am sure that some may do a single haul service, I just goggled Rubbish Hauling Pahoa
& got this list:

post it for free on craigslist.
If it's at all usable, someone will come get it. We've gotten rid of a stained double-recliner couch and several funky chairs. I am honest about what's wrong with them, but somebody always wants them.

Offer it for FREE in the FREE section on CL.... Seen a lot of really sad looking crap there. Someone might want it for a lanai couch ...

Drive to the Hilo landfill and they will direct you to the holy pile of putridity where you may dump your 8K LB couch.
