Some kind of geothermal meeting happened over in Honolulu recently, maybe some would like to watch the video. Somewhere around the 19:30 mark gets very interesting with the way Inouye let the Dlnr answer some tough geothermal questions. The Dlnr Rep does mention the 2009 restoration and push for a an increase of geothermal operations. He does say that "environmental concerns like water quality were met." Yet one year later ground zero For Our ROD outbreak happens followed by a very slow response. To identify it. How Sen, Inouye can claim that the department of health has taken a serious approach to these issues is beyond me. Why was The department of health a no show to this senate meeting yet taken seriously?

Its very hard for me personally to look past an industry like Ormat geothermal when they have repeatedly caused other environmental impacts in our area several times in the past. You do know why geothermal's reinjection system couldn't contaminate any of our under ground water aquifers don't you?
I often ask myself questions like, If they aren't really expressing worry about further contamination of our aquifirs then why expect them to have taken extra safety measures or attempt better monitoring during this last geothermal production increase in the same location?
P.S. Also it's disturbing to watch the level of different respect given by Senator Inouye to others. For one, She drills Bob Patricci, like the guy hasn't had or seen his fair share of drilling already. Then in return she allows the Dlnr rep to be saved and spoken for by a smooth knowledgable geothermal attorney. It shows me that our Dlnr may not know much outside of the profit sector when it comes to our current geothermal operations out here,jmo.

Robert Petricci and his misfits lost all of their remaining credibility when they made complaints about drilling noise - when PGV had not even started drilling. Everyone who made a false complaint to authorities, should have been charged for those false reports. You were a part of those false complaints as well. I am sure you remember that? OOOPS...

Again this is just another opinion of mine so please try not to get to salty. The state may have caused this environmental disaster when they agreed to increase geothermal productions over a known magma chamber" not just hot rocks" with a closed loop system. Any leaking production throughout any of the wells or under ground loop system" due to increased heat and increase in production" could have a high probability of making its way up into our sensitive rain forest environment via water, lava tubes, or fissures. To dismiss the possibilities without serious studies and to treat long time residents with such disrespect is criminal,jmo.
The county has had a program called the county-geothermal(relocation fund) designed to help families just like mine and possible soon to be many others, who have had enough of the living with geothermal concerns, fears, and questions. We are still holding out hope the county will help work towards making these possible family relocations a reality.

PGV said they were going to start drilling on a certain date and time and at that exact time the phones lit up with complaints, only trouble is, they didn't start drilling !

I honestly don't understand why PGV hasn't filed a lawsuit against those that filed the false drilling claims. In an interesting twist, they could get their own money back. After all, they are the ones who had to pay into the relocation fund to begin with. It isn't county money.

Yet, Puna Pono (Petricci, et al) endorsed Ruderman (per Ruderman's campaign HQ posts/statements) like that is a big "plus".

Gypsy, yes, I tried to stay out of this dissertation, as only you can make the decision in the best interest of your ohana. The relocation fund was created initially for those who were "pre-geothermal plant", and then extended to you and others in the area (thanks to Yagong, while he ran for Mayor, at the time). There is nothing that anyone can say to sway your decision to sell, or not, at the County's price. In my view, do what is best for your ohana. Period.
In closing, for the record, I do still find little "pearls of wisdom" in your posts, after deciphering the same.
