Storing a van? Anyone?
#1
Hello, I need a place to park my Honda van (good shape/runs great- not an eyesore) for an unsure amount of time. I'm hoping someone might want their empty house look like there's someone home??!! Happy to pay a reasonable storage fee. As long as safe area, I'm not picky about it being covered or anything. Mahalo for reading!

I stored my truck for 30.00 a month at StorQuest, formerly, Shipman Self Storage. It's at the top of the Shipman Business Park. No contract, just a month to month bill.

Here's a tip for you vphawk: Don't cover it with a tarp, don't leave it under shelter and have the windows a crack. Do leave it in the sun with the windows up. Any other way except having someone use it regularly and you will return to a mold filled interior and that is a guarantee.

Storage not required for us anymore but when we did the truck got two fresh bags of Damp Rid hung in it.

Just playing devils advocate here... but coming from somebody who has stored vehicles here before... have you considered selling the van instead? You would have cash in the hand, no storage or insurance costs, and no worries. The vehicle is only going depreciate in value with each day that passes. Maybe more so if "something happens to it" while its in storage.

Just something to think about.

jphawk I tried to send you email but it is not working so here is the message.
Do you want to sell your van? We are currently off island. We do not have a vehicle on island but wish we could find something good for a reasonable price
Thanks

Thank you to all who replied. It's a great van, super low miles, wouldn't mind selling but my Autistic daughter is very attached to it and having something familiar helps with moving transitions. Thank you for all of your input, I appreciate it. I'm going to ponder some of my options. I'm new to the forum, is there a way to close a topic? I don't want to waste anyone's time. Mahalo, Valorie
