Hopefully the wind is blowing from your lot to his. Wait till he starts burning the trash...

You know, it's how they do it in Utah! Big Grin

There is always something that you don't care for about your neighbors. Be it the 3AM drunk get togethers, Ever thursday night. To the yapping dog that never shuts up. I know, everyone's idea of living in Paradise is strangely different from mine.

When buying a lot, get the swaying clear, clean breezes and only hearing the song birds in the jungle out of your mind! Then you won't have any expectations... Well, unless you are the CEO of facebook and can afford to buy 700 acres on Kauai. Even so, now he is building a wall around his lot! Still not private enough, apparently. I always figured, you'd have to own 25 acre lots to get total privacy. Maybe if you buy 8 lots in front in fern forest you might have a chance. of course that would have to be on jungle king, lots facing the forest reserve. Big Grin

Guess we are the lucky ones then. We have great neighbors on both sides. None of us have howling drunken parties. We all look out for each other. We feed the neighbor's animals if they are gone, and they feed ours. We watch each other's houses when someoen is out of town, etc.

I have lived in a few places like that. Yes, you are lucky...Matter of fact, Rooster Farms, Pig Farms... Etc...Etc... If I remember correctly, HPP is still ag lots. All it takes is one of your "good" neighbors to sell. Yeah, uncle just has a few roosters. You'll get to use to it!

I too seem to live in a pretty good area, but had the rental a few houses down once that well... loved to hunt and had plenty dogs. Anyway, ever since the state changed all these lots from ag to residential things have been pretty quiet around here.

Nothing like one of your neighbors to not sell but turn his retirement home into a section 8 rental house. The joys of living in paradise and being extremely unlucky could happen anytime unfortunately.

I will say this !!
That if you are looking to buy a parcel of land & build your dream home, It might not be your neighbors dream , but a nightmare , if you first of all WHYGET a lot next to someone ! That way maybe you will not be encroaching in their view, wind, noise.ect ect. Secondly rent something near the area you like ,before you buy any property. That way
You might avoid building your dream home near people that are after a while become a pain in the u know were.
last & best get input from your future neighbors.
It took me 5 years a go to build my home, I had to wait 9 months for my permit because it was a custom efficiency home 28x28 single wall , not a kit from argus or HPM & honsedor. It has been a great ride , you must get used to not getting things done !!
So don' t wait there hundred of carpenter's plumer's, electrisians & million handy men ready to Build your dream home.

And buy the adjoining lot(s).

Just buy one narrow lot, several roosters and dogs, and a pair of noise isolating headphones.
