I think the Perseid Meteor shower peaks tonight. Any astronomy buffs know for sure? I'm seeing confilicting reports of peak night + moon wipe-out on the web.

The viewing should be good after 1:21am when the moon sets.

But don't panic as you've got a couple of weeks left.
Dang, I keep thinking I should grind a couple of new mirrors, but haven't got to it yet. Anybody interested in a communal project of building a couple of 24 inch dobsonian refractors? It's a real grunt but if you've got time on your hands you can build one heck of a scope.
