Aloha....well this has been a very good week.New photos of progress are at http://www.picturetrail.com/uid4250199
Weather was outstanding! My neighbor and I spent alot of hours priming and painting the eaves and fascia before the roof went on.Much easier that way! The old muscles and bones are sore from stretching and crawling around on the scaffolding. We feel so lucky to get the roof on and the flooring only got wet once.Looking forward to another productive week.

Hope your project proceeds as well as mine has so far.We are thankful just to be here!
Mella, glad you liked the pics and music.Thought we'd get fancy. When are you coming back to Hawaii? As time moves on,and we get closer to having our own place,we get that feeling of being in a dream.I hope I don't wake up and find out it really is a dreamSmileSmile.

Aloha All:
We've been a little busy, haven't posted update for a week.New pictures are available at http://www.picturetrail.com/uid4250199
We primered the garage fascia and overhang and painted the finish coats on same. The roof was completed on the house and garage.Steps were added in front and on the side of the house near the garage. We also installed a solar powered attic fan that will vent the attic and according to the manufacturer,it will cool the house by 10 degrees.Hopefully this will also reduce moisture in the attic area. The coming week will be spent caulking the nails and cracks in the siding in preparation for priming and painting.Exterior trim work is on the plate also.Plumber is due to come for rough in on the 18th and shortly after, the electician is due.Looking better every day.

Great job Don. You and Lek must be getting a little excited to be moved in! It is a nice looking home. Cathie and I tried to get over to see it yesterday but ran out of time. It was good to talk with you and Lek at the Makuu market.

By the way Don, Cathie and I drove by your new house this evening and was wondering what all the extra trusses on the ground were for. Did you take some short cuts? Or did you feel that there was enough on top alread? ;^)

Aloha Royall & Cathie:
We enjoyed seeing you at the market also.We drove by your project but I think it was past working hours,5:15 Pm.The house is looking great!Wish I had the training to do what you are doing. Those extra trusses are for the garage....or I should say the wrong garage.HPM made a mistake and initially sent the wrong trusses. They were supposed to pick them up when they delivered the correct ones.I guess the driver never got the word.Anyhow, they credited me for them on my account,so I'll wait and see if they come to their senses.Lek says they would be a great start for her deluxe chicken coop!SmileSmileI'll be busy caulking this week and hope to get the primer coat applied.I'm going to experiment with application, maybe spray, maybe roll & brush.Hope the weather holds.I'll try to get by your site tomorrow.
