Kenoi's personal finances will be under spotlight

pay taxes to a County that offers 0 services

Worse: County actively prevents services from happening by not allowing any zoning/use permits for those services -- and some residents "help" by arguing against development.

I've said many times ... if County doesn't want to help, they should at least get out of the way. I would suggest more lawsuits, but these just waste time while funneling tax money to the lawyers.

why on earth do we have to support this fat cat bureaucracy?

Kukuihaele Park as an example:

The residents don't want it, but County went right ahead, even after the cost doubled from $2.5M to $5M. There's obviously a "process" and some "agenda", but it's not "for the people". We need to figure out who's really running County and get them removed.

It is purely a long standing relationship between the county, Isemoto Contracting, and Yamada and Sons. Cha Ching!

Someone pointed out that the parks were Kenoi's long time solution to our homeless population, funny.... Not!

Yes, Puna is the largest growing demographic. You must remember that property value in Puna pale in comparison with West Hawaii. I am an East Hawaii resident, and know for a fact that it is the property taxes of WEST Hawaii that keeps our govt. afloat. Fastest growing demographic or not, if West Hawaii was to break off and form their own county, East Hawaii and Puna will suffer an extreme case of hood rot. Even worse than it is now.

Oh, you tell me. The "yakuza" brigade that keep us living in a shogunate; the very same old boys club kingmakers that choke any decent progress in this island.

To be fair, I believe Isemoto and Yamada are the only two Big Island based firms that are large enough to take on major county projects. But you are correct in a sense that we can't fully disregard how the the wealth of these two companies were built upon county contracts. It's a cycle of prosperity! once again....cha ching!
ok..didn't mean to hijack the thread. Oahu based Nan, Inc. appears to be the third player when it comes to roads on the BI.

And now...back to the Billy bashing regularly scheduled program so many have come to enjoy.

Seems like our mayor isn't the only government official trying to beat the personal use of a government issued card. This one involves 65 people!

https://www.yahoo.com/news/ex-imf-chief-...ector.html

"MADRID (Reuters) - Former International Monetary Fund chief Rodrigo Rato rejected at a trial on Tuesday claims he had misused a corporate credit card during his time at lender Bankia, saying the expenses he accrued were legal and part of his salary.

Rato and 64 other executives and former board members of Bankia and its founding savings bank Caja Madrid are accused of illegally charging millions of euros in personal expenses on company cards in a case that has incensed Spaniards.

Rato, who chaired Bankia for two years until just before its state bailout in 2012, has since repaid the almost 100,000 euros ($111,680) bill he racked up."

Wow. Another government issued card misused!

...and of course, paid back "after it was discovered"... This one lost his job. Why does our mayor still have his?

"This one lost his job. Why does our mayor still have his?"

Because this is the Big Island, and our feckless politicians do not have the courage or will to confront Kenoi. In fact, our gutless Puna Makai council rep Ilagan gushed praise all over Kenoi some time after it became clear what a crook he is. Fortunately, Ilagan will soon be our former council rep, having deservedly lost a bid for higher office.

Why does our mayor still have his?

Clearly, there is some confusion about what Kenoi's actual "job" is.

Hint: it's not Mayor.
