Everything Hitler, Stalin, and Mao did was legal, too bad they didn't have an Ethics Commission to rule all of it was ethical also.
The whole idea of an ethics LAW makes my skin crawl. The logical extension is: "if it's legal it's ethical".
See above.

His role, he said in a request for an advisory opinion from the county Board of Ethics, would be as a "specialist who provides guidance at the initial stages of a project, including securing of planning permission, coordinating the input of consultants including architects, structural engineers, environmental consultants and county departments such as Planning, Public Works, Police, Fire, Environmental Management and Parks and Recreation."
For some reason I read this as "pre-field your project to determine what 'concessions' need to be made in order to secure permits".
Ethics Board deferred action until after Onishi's term because the Code refers to "former" officers or employees.
Given enough time/money, an interesting experiment: create three identical projects, hire different "consultants" for two of them, with the third represented by "owner", and see how differently they're treated by Building/Planning...

I have had some people contact me about the hearing. They were rather offended by the way the Ethics Board handled the hearing and feel the Ethics Board committed ethics violations themselves. More on that later perhaps.
It would seem that more ethics complaints are going to be filed.
It is not over and done.

Most likely outcome: "We investigated ourselves and found no evidence of wrongdoing."

Wow, how frustrating. I certainly hope Rob has better luck with the Appeals board.

Haven't seen the video yet. Not particularly comfortable with watching myself.
