Number 1, maybe THEY just want a bit of privacy. Let them have it; it works for me!

Number 2, While it may be a good point from a realtors' point of view, we don't need the extra traffic.

I admire Sean Penn and have enjoyed his work. I wouldn't want paparazzi trespassing on my property to get a picture of his dog taking a dump.

I agree. I would think if there's anywhere you could be yourself and private, it would be Puna. It's nice that people here on the Punaweb can be light-hearted and playful. Certainly no disrespect ever meant...enjoy the quiet, healing nature of Hawaii.

Bottom line is we will all know who it is at some point anyway. The Big Island is but a small island, and Punas even smaller.
This kind of info is interesting to know but it doesn't change my life. Can't imagine some celeb coming up to me and saying, "Will you be my friend?" hehehe. Guess it could happen.
These folks will either be folks that come and hide out (which is what I will be doing when our place is built) or they will be a part of the community (which I also plan to do).

Well, they may not walk up to you and ask you to be their friends but I have seen both Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson jamming with the local band in a bar on Maui. (They both have houses there.)
