Seems the invasive albizia trees are getting out of hand on the lot next door....
I heard there was a "template" style form one could get, to send out certified to the owner of the lot.... That way if any damage happens it might make it easier to convince a judge that he knew about the problem.
I already have his address from the tax county website. I guess it wouldn't be too hard to make my own, but..... if there is a an official looking one, would rather go that route.
Someone said they found it online. I got close, but no official form that I know of.
Thanks for any help/advice.

I slash and kill albezia in neighboring vacant lots, because when they fall over my property line they take out my ohia and hala trees and replace them with hundreds of albezia saplings that grow up on the hole in the canopy.
So I am a bad person, but when people are clueless, you do what you have to do.

Thanks... Yeah, I think I read that once. But, it I guess, one could use that as a way of letting the lot owner know. I was hoping of a more strongly written letter.
Has anyone here actually tried to get the state to take action from invoking "HRS 127A-18 / Act 76"... Will they really do something or is it all for show?
Edit:
According to someone I talked to, the letter he was talking about, maybe just add it in, if nothing is done, and the tree causes damage, then the lot owner is responsible as he/she knew about the dangerous problem. I guess I could add that into the bottom of the letter (nicely) as another motivation, to sell the lot, or start clearing it out every 2-3 years. The guy lives on the big island, on the kona side. He tried to clear it a few times, then he gave up and hasn't been back.
Thanks!

I someone who filled out that form for the County and the inspector showed up a month after the neighbors Albizia fell over onto her house! Before Iselle they had a 10 month backlog, maybe it's better now.

There is an Albezia workshop at the HPP office (16th & Makuu) this Saturday (Dev 17) 9am - 11am hosted by HPP and BIISC (I assume you do not have to live in HPP, they do not ask). They have them once a month (you can check the HPPOA calendar on line). I did go to one and recommend it. They will cover how to kill the trees, when to get an arborist, form letters for neighbor owners, etc. My recollection is if you take all the right steps and the neighbor does nothing and the trees are a true hazard, BIISC (with maybe the county / State) will assist with the issue and charge the owner. But please do not just take my word for it and get the official information from BIISC.
edited to add specific date of workshop

Greggor's office had a template, they may have passed it on to his replacement. Nanawale may have something too, I know they have tried to take a stand against albizia in the past.
