Our Senator Hirono is Opposing Pruitt for EPA.

2. Not true, not in the least. Do you have any evidence for this.

County voters passed LLEP by referendum; County and State said "not enforceable due to pre-emption by Federal law".

State is perfectly willing to cede to the Feds whenever it's convenient for State.

In the current political climate, State risks loss of Federal funding if they take any posture which is not compatible with the current President.

That's the penalty for letting Uncle Sam bully them (the states) for the better part of a century, including pre-empting the State Legislature's role in picking U.S. Senators, and it only snowballed since. Don't take the money, leave it on the table, and stand on your own hind legs.

Mind you, I completely agree. Unfortunately, the reality is that Hawaii enjoys a massive Federal subsidy, and residents won't tolerate the huge tax increases that would be necessary to offset the loss of these "free" Federal dollars.

This is on top of actively discouraging investment (can't issue valid permits to build a telescope, can't allow dispensaries to open, etc).

So which one are you? Or, if not a Punatic, why are you posting here?
...
There is no residential restriction on posting on this forum. I am none of those, thankfully.

If you don't live in Hawaii, the basis of your observations and criticism of our residents and political activities is limited at best. Wouldn't you agree that like Rick Perry, dancing-cowboy boots-on-the-ground would probably offer the most accurate assessment of a situation?

You could never convince a monkey to give you a banana by promising him limitless bananas after death in monkey heaven.

Not in today's intimately connected world where information need not be assessed "in person". I've studied, and lived in Hawaii on and off since the early 80's, and I stand by my assessment. Do you disagree with my conclusions, my methodology, or my right to opine?

He is an agitator, did great damage to our nation on the International front, economic front (U6 unemployment in double-digits, never broke 3% rate of economic growth etc., massive numbers on unemployment/unemployed so long their benefits have expired and have become a permanent unemployed-class who aren't even counted in the U3 unemployment rate.

Not to worry, though, we are on the mend, back in business, and are already making a comeback. You are welcome to contribute/benefit.

I probably see more than you do buried in the woods so deep you can't see the forest for the trees. I have a broad, detached viewpoint that sees much through other's eyes as expressed on this forum and elsewhere. You are free, however, to "raise" the drawbridge any time you want.

Well Lopaka has taken this topic off into the national and thus I bring this topic to its end.
