I'm not really sure what you're referring to, but when I meet people IRL I have a rule, be polite to them, treat them as if they are better than you because they might be, you might like them more than yourself, or consider them more righteous. I'm really bad at the second step, which is if you're polite to someone and they are not polite back, I try to still be polite.

I try to follow one quote in life.

"Life is spent searching for beauty, all else is a form of waiting." -Khalil Gibran

I want to explore Hawai'i, but I don't care about violating sacred places. Why do that? It's ugly, and It's the same logic as, "why break into my neighbor's house to see what art they have up?" Only its a sacred place, which makes it a whole different realm. I'm positive they're beautiful, but those places aren't for me. I'd like a girlfriend, but you don't get that by being disrespectful to women, but also nowadays you have to flirt a little or else it seems you aren't interested at all.

I don't want to harm the environment or plants or animals, my purpose with this thread was to try and figure out an easy way to help cleanse one of the human footprints we leave behind, the bacteria. I really don't understand why whites even **** things up in Hawai'i to begin with. Why spend so much money and travel so far just to destroy something unique and beautiful? I mean, that's so stupid, they can do that for free on the mainland. The stuff in Hawai'i is one shot, That is, it doesn't exist elsewhere, so once it's gone, it's gone forever.

Oh, also, I understand that not everyone likes the smell of cannabis smoke, and I have no plans to be gassing people with weed smoke. I can take my meds anywhere, it's super ****ty to just blaze up in front of people I don't know.

Aloha Smile

Airportparking, is that you, renamed? If so, spelling and grammar have improved!

Glass#... the bacteria is not there only because of humans, it is a part of nature (many animals, including shorebirds, contribute to the bacteria load)
The problems is that warm soils & warm water are breeding grounds for these.... Of course, adding more humans adds to the problems.
You have actually highlighted the BEST way to help the problem of human footprints... is for humans to stay out...
That is something that some of the marine parks here are doing today, and has been done in ancient Polynesian history, closing an ocean area to let it "recharge" (the Kapu system is used today by the Maori to allow ocean and shore areas to recover) Hanauma Bay is an example of that in the state.

As for the trolling you have received...as Rob has pointed out to you, DO NOT ANSWER them.... that only makes them stronger...ignore them & they do go away... this is their way of having some fun at some one else expense...
Asking questions is always good, but as you may have noticed by now, it is in the way you ask... try to remember that the veneer of respect is the utmost here...as a sub teacher here, just reminding students, with one word, to `respect` could calm many a classroom issue, something I had not had on the mainland...that one word holds a lot of power here... anything that can be looked at as dis-respect by a mainlander will be thrown back.... that is the way it is... fair or unfair, it is up to you to show the respect in all things
As you may have noticed, the "Hot Tourist" comment may have riled quite a few... a term that probably was not needed in your post, and your suggestion of bleaching a beloved cultural spot (that you incorrectly believed was untested & bacteria ravaged) showed a further lack of respect to some...
I look at posts with questions as any educator would, as a chance to further correct information, many here look at posts here as a way to nit-pick... & you have had most of those on this post.... I have observed that many on island see a newcomer as a `young person`, to answer back, even to correct yourself, is seen as disrespectful, even if that is not your intent....

Ahhhh, so nice to see the refreshing post by Carey.

Like I said before Glass, there are some great people on here. And you've just been "schooled" by the best one.

Edited to change "heard from" to "been 'schooled' by".

Bacteria in the pools is almost entirely not cased by man. Bacteria is basically EVERYWHERE in nature (except for extreme freezing conditions), and nearly everywhere else as well. Some bacteria is harmful, most has no effect on us, and some is actually beneficial.
In short:
moist = bacteria
standing water = more bacteria
warm standing water = even more bacteria
warm standing water with gobs of decaying leaves and mud = lots and lots of bacteria.

A lot of people have been trolled here. It's obvious the OP is seeking attention, and anonymous internet forums are fertile ground.
Its been pretty textbook actually; had there been a textbook written.
I wish the OP great luck in life, and that's the end.
