County mulch now limited, 2-3X more expensive
#11
Got another load of mulch today and it looked like about half of it was gone compared to last week. This leads me to wonder about future mulch availability. If anybody is needing mulch you might not want to put it off.

I also saw a sign by the cover-your-load area that said to wait there for wood chips. Does that mean they will go fetch wood chips for you and load you up?

Yes. I got a load of wood chips this morning. The signs are confusing, but I got a dude to come out of the trailer and offer to help by driving slowly around the yard with a baffled look on my face. He told me to put my ticket in the box and go park by the wood chip pile. He fetched a loader and within five minutes, I was on my way back to the scale.

Also, took a peek at the mulch yard... no worries, it was almost half-full of piles of mulch; more than there was on Friday.

Got another load of wood chips today, but had to load them myself. The guy working the loader insisted "there wasn't any", and to be fair, the pile was nearly gone. But, there was enough there to fill my truck. Took a peek at the mulch lot; about a quarter full.

I agree with TC's earlier post about the usefulness of wood chips as path-makers though jungle-rock. It dramatically improves the footing, and clearly delineates where you can safely walk without busting your okole.
