Where were the Protectors

If they have kids, they were no doubt saying ...oohhh... ahhh along with everybody else last night. It's too hard trying to explain how the beautiful, colorful fireworks are connected with the 1893 overthrow to a five year old, especially after your 4th hot dog, and 6th beer. A proper examination of events linking overthrow and fireworks requires a months long, repetitious, air conditioned, nearly never ending hearing among adults. Although at times even that can be pretty hard to comprehend.

Yet, the Protectors didn't even bother to request a contested case hearing during the fireworks permitting process.

Why, it's almost ... selective focus.

Maybe if the fireworks show was a billion dollars...

Yup.
No easy way for OHA and their ""Protector" allies in extortion"" to line their pockets on fireworks.
They together with haole luddites block geothermal, TMT etc, and destroy ALL our futures.
While I understand Hawaiian cultural sensitivities, and 1893 etc, this is used as cover by the incompetent/ criminal cabals that are DHHL and OHA and an equally corrupt and spineless and manipulative political elite. Enough![}Smile]
JMHO.

Or if last April 1st astronomers on Mauna Kea had announced they planned to use a new technique developed by the military, known as 'optical bending' to focus their telescopes down at the next 4th of July fireworks display, in an attempt to compare the trailing, burning streaks of light in our terrestrial sky to something they might have discovered in a galaxy far, far away.
Then...
