Do you still enjoy watching movies on the big screen? Moviepass offers the ability to watch one movie every 24 hours for $10 a month (it had been $50). You need a smart phone, they send you a debit card - - full details are available at their website:
https://www.moviepass.com/
That price gets you into one movie showing every single day at any theater in the U.S. that accepts debit cards (this does not include 3D or Imax showings).

It appears to work at both Prince Kuhio & Kress:

Their website is understandably overloaded this afternoon, I've managed to get through with repeated attempts.

I would google "moviepass scam" before signing up.
Apparently the actual cost goes up if you actually start using it:
"MoviePass reserves the right to change the rules of movie-going attendance and ticket availability to members at anytime. You will be notified of any changes made to the terms of service prior to your next billing cycle, at which point you would have 14 days to opt-out of the service. MoviePass will not make any changes to your plan mid-cycle, all changes will be in affect at the start of your next billing cycle."

But I do hope it works out for you.

It's definitely not a scam, it's being reported all over this afternoon. Here's another link to CBS Marketeatch:

Even if you use it for a few months, you can get more than your money's worth out of it just seeing two movies a month. It's not a scam or even unusual for a company to offer a promotional price, then change that price later on.

So HotPE, did this pan out? Every time I look at the movies at Prince Kuhio, I cant find anything worth the drive.
Cheers,

I catch a few movies a month this way, so I'm already way ahead if they screw around or go bankrupt!
Does Kress still exist?! I thought that shut down ages ago.

Looks like MoviePass is going down quickly...
Helios & Matheson, which owns MoviePass, crashed more than 30% Tuesday following a dire financial filing.
The company said it had $15.5 million of available cash and another $27.9 million on deposit.
It also admitted its cash burn was more than $20 million each month.

Just saw Infinity War. One more and I'll be ahead for the month.
Anything good out?

Just ran across this article:
https://variety.com/2019/digital/news/mo...203192468/
MoviePass Has Lost Over 90% of Its Subscribers in Less Than a Year (Report)
"In June 2018, MoviePass claimed it had signed up more than 3 million subscribers for its $9.95 monthly plan, which let customers see one movie every single day. But that proved unsustainable, and MoviePass was forced to change that to a three-movies-per-month plan. In August 2018, MoviePass Inc. began to convert subscribers on annual subscription plans to the three-movies-per-month subscription plan, by giving annual subscribers the option to either cancel or refund their annual subscription or continue on the new three-movies-per-month subscription plan.
Evidently, over 90% of MoviePass’ previous subscribers didn’t care to continue paying for the service given the dramatically scaled-backed terms."
