Hawaiian Telcom DSL Problems ?
#1
Anyone noticed inconsistent speeds with their Hawaiian Tel DSL service ?
Since 6-25-06, my speeds have dramatically dropped off. I've noticed on DSL Reports some other HawTel DSL users have noticed similiar speed drop offs ?

I'm just trying to gage
how widespread it is ?

Aloha, Aaron. Hawaiian Telcom is having all kinds of problems. We have been trying to get on their DSL over six weeks now, and they have dropped the ball at every turn. Can't even get through to anyone to ask what's going on. If your problem is widespread and on-going, we may not want their service. I will watch this thread closely to see what other folks are experiencing.

Cheers,
Jerry

Well for me until after the 6-25-06, I was happy as a clam with their service. Now something is amiss. I've called them up yesterday.I was told to keep an eye on it.

Yes Sir! I'm Located up on 40th in Orchid Land, and have lost a lot of bandwith in the last week also. My bandwidth tests have been averaging around 950+Kbs for the last 2 years. I am only getting a Max of 350kbs now :-(

Not sure whats the problem but I will be calling Hawaiian Tel this Morning....

My DSL from Hawaiian Tel has been a consistant
650-750kbs. I started with Verizon and was switched over. So hopefully it will remain the same.

Speed seems okay - it is the connection that keeps dropping... we checked it out and it seems to be this area not just our connection. Anyone else get this in Kapoho?

I've done some speed tests today. The local one
was fine.. But the mainland ones are really bad still Sad

I found out it is indeed a congestion issue
with their Sprintlink backbone. More bandwith
should be on the way by Wednesday at the latest
to help alleviate the problem.

Now if we could just get their customer service department to figure out where my modem is (or even talk to me about it), I might get to use that new bandwidth!!

I read the best time to call them is before 8AM
