That's a negative on both of your questions. My 50 and over fan base is a bunch of forum wannabe police who try to chase folks off like myself who may have a different opinion than theirs. Obie is a man not a she, I think. He was all talk no walk, not even a kind note that he changed his mind on meeting me at the Casino. I wasted an entire day waiting for him to reply in hopes we could meet in person and have a fun afternoon. I think he was never really in this area to begin with and he did not want to try and explain his special PWeb privileges I certainly would have asked him about. Maybe he just lost a bunch of his money on the Casino tables and was not in a good mood to meet, not sure.

I think this could loosely fit under "Must opinions be substantiated?" Obie and I know each other very well. A mutual friend of our's said the handle "used" to belong to an elderly Kapoho man. Obie outed me some time ago, and I in turn outed her. Obie's been very active w/HPP politics and posting HPP website info on PT HPP threads. I don't know any elderly man from Kapoho but I do know Obie.

Your sarcasm is correct, Paul. Most people probably won’t read it. But some of the non-readers are not hesitant to critique it. I guess that makes it easier. You can reply to what you think was written rather than what was written. But that’s OK. I find this whole thing amusing. It is not like I said to myself one day, for no reason: I’ll write a huge piece on how to support opinions. Show everyone on Punatalk how smart I am. I might have my shortcomings on Punatalk. But one of them is not sniping at average posters in replies. Or insinuating with knowledge how dumb they are. But some of the (obviously) more educated people on Punatalk, the constant critics. Who know so much. Who post all over the place. And sometimes snipe at average posters. And who like to throw their big words around as challenges. Like “unsubstantiated opinions.” All around Punatalk. Including at me. And then it turns out they have problems discerning the difference between “substantiate” and “prove.” I find that even funnier. |
