No, but I have been selected for Kona.
If you live more than 100 miles from the courthouse, send a map showing the distance from your home to the courthouse and you'll be excused. Puna to Honolulu should more than qualify. I think jury pools are selected from voter registration roles aren't they? Did you vote on Oahu recently? Idiots rule the world, but only when there is a fair vote. - Last Aphorisms

Is it a Federal jury summons? They sometimes pull jurors from the Big Island for Federal trials or even grand juries.

Are you sure you’re not being asked to perform Grand Jury Duty? In our experience, it’s the only time we’ve been asked to go to Oahu to serve. That request/demand usually comes with several pages of information about hotels rooms, lunch vouchers, length of time possibly served, and reasons why you can be excused.

So... Nice hotels on Waikiki? $20 lunch vouchers?

It doesn't say anything about a Federal or Grand Jury summons. It clearly states that I will not be reimbursed for airfare, but can bill for mileage to and from the airport. It mentions hotel and food vouchers, but not an amount. It also states to be prepared to stay at least several days.

KJ, I am currently working in NC for my job for several weeks. I am also flying overseas in May for work. As much as I would like to do my civic duty, I will be requesting to be dismissed this time around. WahineWahineLead by example
