Oh, no! What if something important happens? Punaweb is a much faster source of info than the county and some of the news outlets . . . especially the county. I'm mostly joking, though, and I know such maintenance is necessary.

Punaweb is a much faster source of info

2-hour stale Punaweb will still be more current than County or HTH.

Thanks for the heads up - all the infrastructure being stressed no doubt! (let us know if there are costs associated that needs some chipping in)

I'm going to experience heavy withdrawal symptoms.

such maintenance is necessary.

I'd like to think of it as a safety feature. For some of us, the dishes and coffee cups may be stacked perilously high near our computers and on nearby supplemental tables and counters. Another 6.0+ quake, and keyboards or monitors could be inundated and/or buried.

Two hours of down time this evening and we'll have an opportunity to clear the decks.

Two of my favorite websites had a catastrophic failure in the last year, everything lost and no backups. Unbelievable.
Rob, if you can, try to get assurances that they actually test their backups.
