You can get a fairly good view of Fissure 8 from Kaloli Point in HPP, despite the distance, but maybe there are better (higher?) places to view it from. I would be glad to hear your tips.

Can you see the actual fountaining? All we can see in OLE is the eerie glow.

Good thread. Someone told me there is a spot off the Volcano to Keaau road where one gets a glimpse of the distant fountain. And I saw it for sure coming down Saddle Road the other night. About 17 mile marker.
Distant glimpses of the fountain. That's all we are allowed, apparently (unless you have big money for a helicopter ride).

You can take a heli ride for $200, maybe cheaper. But it would still be nice to see it from the land. I wonder how the view is up on MK?

That ride would be much cheaper with a nearby landing pad. Would probably make more money than the $5000 tickets, too.

On a clear night you can get a pretty good, if distant, view at about the 9 mile marker on the Saddle Rd. Several nights I have seen people parked along the road just after dark looking at the fountain. You can also see where it's going into the ocean...
