2018 Hurricane Season
#21
There is a tab for Eastern Pacific (where the storm is developing) on top of the page Obie linked, or here is the direct link:

I alternate between thinking of the planet as home — dear and familiar stone hearth and garden — and as a hard land of exile in which we are all sojourners. Today I favor the latter view. The word “sojourner”... invokes a nomadic people’s sense of vagrancy, a praying people’s knowledge of estrangement, a thinking people’s intuition of sharp loss: “For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.” - Annie Dillard
"I'm at that stage in life where I stay out of discussions. Even if you say 1+1=5, you're right - have fun." - Keanu Reeves

My wife is at a rental in Hawaiian Beaches, I am on the mainland for the summer.

The Vacationlander's are looking at taking over a section of HPP.

A friendly takeover, I assume. Any section in particular? I welcome their arrival.

Cool! sounds like Vacationland residents got along well with each other....love that!

please be aware if you are considering Kaloli Point, which I find to be AWESOME! , We finally have great representation on the board and Kaloli Point is the Bible Belt of HPP bylaw upholders!!!!!!

WELCOME !!! Get your pamphlets, understand the bylaws, uphold them , and we will all have a stronger neighborhood for it!!!!

For the track on Emila, the cone of possibilities shows good changes that is will track above 20 N Latitude (our island) far east of here (-130, Puna is -155 ) so a good chance this will be a no-show... but there is another possibility brewing behind it..

TPAC Water Vapor shows a good sheer buildup for us...now:

Probably won't happen until this eruption stops.

This thread initially got hijacked by someone else, not Reni...

and Kaloli Point is the Bible Belt of HPP bylaw upholders!!!!!!

You're right Reni. One can understand your enthusiasm. HPP people in general are excited and waiting for positive changes and it's beginning NOW, not "until the eruption stops."

We are fortunate in HPP with the emergency and CERT radio team we have in place if we get hit by a damaging hurricane. After storm Iselle, citizens of HPP (comprised of many HPP NW members) stepped up and created and fine tuned emergency procedures with practice sessions since 2015. So HPP's "storm ready" thanks to these HPP volunteers. Some of these same volunteers stepped up day 1 to assist w/the lava eruption evacuees situation and are still helping.

HPP's "storm ready"

This is a joke right.

If HPP were storm ready there wouldn't be hundreds of albizia trees ready to crash down when the next big storm comes.
