Been looking for kiddie pools to grow rice in, Walmart doesn't seem to be getting them in this summer. I saw a new kiddie pool strapped to the top of a mini van heading towards Pahoa yesterday. Any idea where it came from?

What dept? In years past they have been in the garden dept. I've been looking there but so far nothing.

Toy dept....I didn't get the "Y" in toy in the post above. Down the aisle with other aquatic toys on the bottom shelf. Like I said, small.. only 3 foot.

Sorry don't know anything about kiddie pool locations terracore but I'm very interested in your rice growing project.
Would you mind elaborating a bit on your processes?

Had a stack of them at the closing KMart in Kona last week. I’d call before going over.

Royall do you mean the $10 rigid pools? I couldn't find them at Walmart. Lots of inflatable varieties.
Thanks for the tip about Target I will try there too.
As for growing rice, better to post about that when the experiment is past the planning stage, but if we stick to the original plan there will be others growing the same varieties at the same time at different elevations. Rice grows really well here, but like everything else it's cheaper to import it.

I just saw a stack of them on the sidewalk at Ace, Keaau. About 5' round.... $22.95 ea.
Assume the best and ask questions.
