I tried calling Helco on 969-6999 but just get a busy tone. At least I assume people are calling in.

Apparently, it's a Helco generator failure. Power will be restored when it's working again. No time estimate provided.

Obviously it’s a PGV motivated outage to get everyone on board for some more PGV electricity soon. “Mongo only pawn in game of life.”

PGV was the most reliable power source on the Big Island.

My power system has never had an outage, ever. The only time it has been off is when I’ve chosen to turn it off because of lightning nearby.

Yeah, the power at our house only goes off when I turn it off.

The power is so reliable here that I think it's pointless to invest in (and maintain and repair and replace) a generator or solar batteries.
Even after Iselle, when we had no power for 2 weeks, we got along just fine. Electricity is overrated.
