Connect 1:12 patio shed roof to 2x8 ledger
#1
Adding a patio roof to the side of my house. Patio rafters are 2x8 spanning around 15 feet. Ledger is a 2x8 bolted and nailed through plywood to the top plates and studs. Slope of the roof is 1:12. Due to the existing construction, the rafters must meet the face of the ledger, not rest on top.

Which hangers would code require to connect the rafters to the ledger? LRU26Z or LRU28Z would seem ideal (if expensive), but Home Depot does not carry them. Because of the low slope, I'm also considering using the cheaper joist hanger LUS28Z, with or without a slight birdsmouth. Also considering the Simpson RR tie up top with a concealed strap connecting the bottom half of the ledger face to the bottom of the rafters.

What's a simple/cheap/strong way to do this? Thanks!

White Cap likely has a better selection of connectors than Home Depot.
Assume the best and ask questions.

what distance are you placing the rafters as 2x8 is a little overkill? Normally for a project similar to yours would use 2x6's, 24" on center with a 2x8 ledger.

24" on center, figured 15' was a long span... Only purlins and metal on top though. And occasionally a few stargazers.

I would use 2x6's with plain old joist hangars with that flat pitch.
