Council Member Ruggles Town Hall on War Crimes
#21
Then file a complaint with the Ethics Commission.

The one that can't ratify "telling of truth"?

Yeah, that one. Put them all in a room together and see what happens.
Assume the best and ask questions.

I encourage people to call her office repeatedly: 961-8263.

I have been doing so several times a week ( and encouraging others in her district ), with a variation of the same question: If voting for your district's interests violates your conscience, why doesn't it violate your conscience to collect your paycheck, which is funded by the taxpayers of your district, most of whom earn less than you are taking .

Sometimes the phone is answered by one of her staff people, sometimes I get a recording asking to leave a message ( which I do ). I try not to be rude. I know my phone calls alone will not make her change her stance, but I keep in mind the adage that every flood is made of many, many drops, and perhaps she will get the message that she will be forever branded as an money-grubbing low-life that is ripping off her constituents, rather than the high-minded idealist she sees herself being.

And sending my frustration to her and her staff relieves my own blood pressure.

@Punaperson
Thanks for taking the time to call her
Unless we say something, there is absolute no will to do anything. I might also suggest County Council chair, Valerie Poindexter.

At this late date, the cheapest option is to just let it go. Any kind of recall, special election, or legal fight will cost more than Ruggles' last paychecks.
