(almost) no lilikoi for me
#11
Here on Kaloli Point there didn't seem to be much of a gas issue during the eruption, so I'm not sure that's it.

There is a tale going around that only carpenter bees can pollinate lilikoi- that is not entirely accurate. Many varieties of lilikoi (some would say most varieties) cannot be pollinated by honeybees. You'll have to look at your flowers and see if the honey bees can reach both sexes of the flower. If they cannot, then they will not make good pollinators and only the larger carpenter bees will be able to pollinate them well. You can put dead ohia in with the lilikoi to attract the carpenter bees.

I know I posted about this somewhere but I guess it was a different thread. My lilikoi bloomed all summer but didn't set fruit. Suddenly, In the last three weeks, there are bunches of new fruit. Weather hasn't changed, insects haven't changed. I'm just happy they're finally producing.
Certainty will be the death of us.

I started getting more fruit on one of my plants a couple of weeks ago.
@terracore - thanks for the tip on the logs. I do have some ohia that we have unfortunately had to cut down.
