Ahhhhh, the rain on my head, the bugs in my face… So many pleasant memories...
I never bought into the loud pipes thing but there were some things I did, and like 2 cents said, carry over:
1. Ride with your lights on. I’m amazed at how many bikers don’t do this. I guess they don’t think it looks cool.
2. Keep 4 seconds from the car ahead of you. Not always achievable (or practical) but the person who doesn’t see you will go, leaving you time to react.
3. Don’t speed! Sheesh. People just don’t expect something coming at twice (or more) the normal speed. Plus reaction time is greatly diminished.
4. Ride in the left tire track. Again I’m surprised at how many don’t do this but it is the most “visible” position.
