I just found out that "Shipt" can deliver groceries right to my door in lower HPP. And within 2 hours of placing the call!! It's $8.50 a month membership and it's free delivery if over $35.00. You can currently get groceries from either Target or Safeway. I downloaded the app to see what's available and the prices. Prices are the same as in the store and the selection was very large and even had "current" sales prices. Only drawback is that Hawaii won't let them deliver alcohol (at this time). So before I sign up...I wanted to get some feedback.... Anyone?

Well I think we'll give it a try and see what happens.

I kinda think it would be unkind to not figure a tip into the delivery. I suspect these delivery folks are not on the high scale (or any scale) of pay.
Assume the best and ask questions.

I'll let you know our experience after 4:00 pm today.
The shoppers/drivers are crowd sourced like Uber.
Their target wage is $22/hour. But we're good tippers.

Please, anyone who uses the service give us the details.
If the numbers above all add up, it sounds like a business model based more on sorcery than math.

It's spelled "disruptive innovation".

ShipT gets negotiated discount for what they pay Target. At stores without discount the items cost more when you use shipT.

"disruptive innovation"
The main factor is probably their break even point, especially for a rural area like Puna.
That is, how many orders to a specific geographic location covers their expenses. Is it 5 or 10 orders from Target delivered to Kaloli Point in one delivery run?
Question for those who order - - do you receive advertisements or coupons via the app, text, or their website? That may also help the company offset expenses for their service.

They also can't pick up prescriptions which means we have to at least drive to Pahoa for the alcohol and drugs. [

Target owns ShipT.

HPP has the density to make it worthwhile. Pahoa and Mountain View are too far.
