Have to admit I find it hard to understand how each trustee's annual allowance of $22K could ever be justified. $1850 per month for what?

A step in the right direction. Maybe the County Council could work on re thinking the ridiculous amount of money members get? Certainly their overall track record of performance makes $70,000 per year really hard to justify. Also why with Harry's crocodile tears about poverty can he justify taking on more employees? Makes the old days of Billy Kenoi look really good in retrospect.

End of rant, think I'll go have some cheese to go with this w(h)ine.

I know of topic but is county council a full time job? Or do they get to work anther job during the day. If not their only job they sure make a lot of money for part time

Is that what they call it retaining top talent. I dont see much top talent here. Ever other place I live in not a full time job at full pay. lol. In Alaska they get $900 a month and they meet ever week. It is a civic duty not afull time job.

I believe there was one county council member, from Puna, that thought it was fine to be paid even though they didn't turn up for their job, whether it was part-time or not.
