Hi! Please no judgement on this question. I have done quite a bit of research and am hitting walls with the state and county. I am looking at purchasing a house on tax sale that we know had meth in it at one time. What we do not know is how much. Does anyone know of a local testing company that will test the levels? I have found some out of state ones, but would rather do local. Thank you!

Perhaps assume the worst, and wash and prime everything according to EPA guidelines? Saw this thread:

If it was a lab don’t buy it. If the tweaker’s pour the waste chemicals on the ground you could be left holding the bag millions in clean up.

If they were cooking meth and using iodine to make it, spray starch will react with it and turn purple.
Spray it on walls and surfaces.
I owned a duplex where a tenant cooked meth.I used that method to identify surfaces that need decontamination. I had the place tested by a certified lab after I cleaned it up myself.
In most of the place I just ripped out the drywall, carpet, and drapes.
If they were just smoking it there, cleaning with bleach and water and a good paint job will take care of it.
Sorry, I don't know of a local company.
Note !!! I had hazmat training because of my work and knew what precautions to take.
